News operations at several local CBS stations started a series of job cuts this week as the network itself, CBS News, moved ahead with plans to lay off about 1 percent of its nearly 1,200 employees.

Concerning the situation in Tibet, Chinese newspapers cover one view of the situation with the Chinese government's crackdown on protesters in Tibet or they do not cover the story at all. Censorship and one-sided coverage here has reached an almost absolute level.

The biggest news site of China says "Some foreign media fabricated lots of reports on severe riots that took place in early March in Tibet."
